Welcome to my website. My interest in wildlife and particularly birds was stimulated by a visit, nearly two decades ago, to the dramatic cliffs of Hermaness NNR, Shetland. Then, I only had one aim - to see a puffin. The comical puffin remains a favourite, but my interest has continued to grow and the experience has been enhanced by my introduction to digi-scoping. The vast majority of images on this website have been produced using a Nikon Coolpix 4500 camera and Swarovski 65HD telescope. Although digi-scoping has limited application some pleasing results can be obtained. By necessity the quality of images viewed on this site has been reduced, but it does give an indication of the results which can be achieved by any novice to photography.
This site, whilst having some relatively rare bird images is largely intended to be a celebration of British birds and to a lesser extent, other wildlife.
In a global economy and increasingly stressful world, the presence and needs of wildlife are often overlooked. I hope you enjoy your visit to this site and if it inspires just one person to get out and appreciate wildlife in the future it will be a bonus. |
